Making a difference one heart at a time.

I keep a ceramic starfish on my desk to remind me that I may only make a difference to one and if today, that is all I do, I have done well.

Perhaps you haven’t heard the story of the old man and the starfish, or, maybe you have but it’s been a while.  Either way, I share it here now as a gentle reminder that sometimes one simple act can make all the difference.

When you are struggling with regards to your love life… in any capacity, a fight with your spouse, toxic cycles repeating, a recent breakup, the loneliness of being single, it can impact every single area of your life.

Sometimes, I feel a bit overwhelmed with my desire to share my knowledge of love with the world.  How will I reach and help so many people?  Really teach about love so that it may transform their relationships with love and truly make a difference?  There are so many people suffering, it seems like a daunting task.  Then... I remember the starfish, and I keep going, so that I may help one.

It is the same for you, I’m sure at times it feels overwhelming, whatever the love issue that you are facing.  But often, just knowing what to do, what next step to take, will make all the difference in the world. 

This is what I do, I help people see and understand the next best step, then the next, until a breakthrough occurs, and with it, clarity comes. 

And when that happens, I know I made a difference to that one.

The Starfish Parable

One day, an old man was walking along a beach that was littered with thousands of starfish that had been washed ashore by the high tide.  As he walked he came upon a young boy who was eagerly throwing the starfish back into the ocean, one by one. 

Puzzled, the man looked at the boy and asked what he was doing.  Without looking up from his task, the boy simply replied, “I’m saving these starfish, Sir.”

The old man chuckled aloud, “Son, there are thousands of starfish and only one of you.  What difference can you make?”

The boy picked up a starfish, gently tossed it into the water and turning to the man, said, “I made a difference to that one!”
